I bought my first RRC a couple weeks ago! Originally I was planning to buy a two door VM diesel in France since these can be had for very cheap but after trying to contact a few people selling one this proved a lot harder then I tought it would be! Since my old BMW 5 series (e28) was completely restored and cant really do any restoration work on my daily driver (e34 touring 5 series) I really wanted a new project for this winter. After browsing ads for a few weeks I found this one for sale on a Dutch/Belgian land rover parts group on Facebook.
its a 1985 four door model
110K miles
special two tone paint (well to me anyway, pretty much the reason I had to buy the car!)
3.5 V8 carb
RHD car
and yes its rusty!
The seller told me it was imported by the previous owner in the early 2000's, used until 2005/2006 and then parked in a barn. I found some old registration/tax stickers stating that it was once in Wales for a few years. The plan is to do a light restoration this winter/spring, get the sills welded up, fresh up the engine, cooling and brakes and enjoy it for the summer.
