Having owned diesel pickups . they are absolutely useless in the snow in 2 wd ,but put them in 4wd and you can't stop them as long as you are on hard ground . Most of the weight is on the front end . I wonder if the Ranger 2wd has more front wheel weight then back , maybe that's why ford did not bring it to the land of ice and snow .either that or they did not want a price point that would take sales away from the f150. But on topic 500 bucks for all that equipment is a great deal, wish it was available here .
