SOLD
Two International Scouts, Both SD33-T turbo diesels
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Price: $7000 for BOTH (but open to reasonable offers)
Ok, so I have gone back and forth with this decision as I never anticipated selling either of these. But some rather large life changes are going to be taking place and these need to go to someone who will finish and enjoy them (as I'm sure they will).
I am selling two 1980 International Scouts. One is in driving condition, though it does not have doors mounted, and the other is more of a resto-mod project that is not far from being finished. The one that is drivable is the Traveler (longer wheelbase) and the one that is mid-resto is a Scout II (standard wheelbase). Both have removable tops, the travelers is fiberglass and the scout IIs is steel.
I would like to sell these together as a package deal. I know this may limit my buyers, but trust me, its nice to have spare parts around, especially for these pretty rare engines. Both engines run GREAT. They all smoke a bit on startup, however, there are no mechanical issues with either truck. The only issues are putting one back together and turning the other into an expo rig or going crazy custom with it...OR just driving it, as it is driving fine right now, though I just took the tags off it.
Let me point out for those that aren't up to speed on the scouts, that both of these (being turbo diesel models) have dana 44 axles, 4 speed t19 transmissions, and dana 300 transfer cases. So they could be donor vehicles for custom rigs if someone was so inclined.
Traveler
-I have doors but they are not mounted and rusted at the bottoms (would be a great candidate for super scout door inserts but I never got around to it)
-New floors have been welded in
-New brake lines
-New rear brakes (drums surfaced and all new cylinders, etc)
-Alloy wheels/32" tsl swampers
-33 gallon tank (from the factory)
-New brake master cylinder
-Blue top optima battery
Scout II (non-driving at the moment)
-Old floors have been cut out of it as they were rusted
-Most of the work for getting the rust out of the body has been done
-Engine has been cleaned and painted and is out of the body
-Transmission has been cleaned and painted and includes a new clutch and surfaced flywheel
-Turbo has been rebuilt
-New Injectors
-New fuel filter
-New transmission mount
-Other things I'm probably missing...
-This one NEEDS : a brake booster, floors welded in, inner fenders, small amount of body and paint work, and a battery.
I'm sure there is stuff I am forgetting and things that I will add. I will also add pictures as they are on my ipad and not accessible at the moment...
Any questions feel free to ask. Pictures will be coming asap.
