I found a used kit.
Since these were used for airfield use, most have low miles but high hours. My truck came from Antarctica, hence the lift for "44 tundra tires--Ambulance II.
Those are sweet! I have also thought about going with the single rear and lifting a bit more, but I have made mine inside bed with the ability to fold completely flush on the wall so I could fit my full size atv, so not sure if i will lift it up or not??

The question of the day is.... To mount a TV or not?? I am wanting this rig to be as versatile as possible, so having tv/dvd/video game option for those time when you are plugged in may not be bad. Typically I dont tend to use much tv, or dvd while I personally am out and about but whos to say the next owner may like it... Any opinions?

Well, I am ready to move on to the next phase which is paint... I have been throwing around some ideas for painting the front cab.
1. Paint it white as it is not but just give a fresh coat.
2. do a monstaliner paint job on the cab...
3. Paint the cab a different color like the jeep color "tank green" which is what I did my excursion project in.. but if I do a color swap on the cab I will have to have a way of incorporating that same color onto the box to it does not look goofy... maybe a stripe down the side?
What are your opinions!

Oooo, you're getting us excited! We're painting our ambulance soon. Seeing your dark scheme, looking so damned nice, is reassuring. Looks great! And X2 on the paint question from mp_tx

Believe it or not the paint is rolled on! I was debating on what I wanted to do for a color swap and decided that rolling it on would be a solid and cheap option and I think it came out pretty well.
The paint is oil based, rustoleum Professional in a color called "smoke grey" you can find it at home depot and it cost about 30 bucks. 1 gallon was able to do the entire box minus the roof. I am not sure if I will paint the roof or not as I like the fact that it is white and will no absorb as much heat. Although, I may just paint it also for consistency. The paint job looks pretty good but the closer you get you can see plenty of imperfections.... that being said, its an adventure vehicle! its going to get scratches and what not all the time. So having a paint I can repair easily that will last a long time and to do it cheaply is a no brainer for me...
The Screen is also from home depot. It comes in a 72 by 25' bulk roll and also cost around 35 dollars. I took a 2" pvc pipe and cut it to the length I wanted that would cover the entire rear door area. I wanted it to be easy and fit tight enough, not to let anything in but also that I could get in an out easily. I glued, and taped the screen edge to the pvc pipe. ON the other end I used a piece of wood trim shoe molding I had laying around, and wrapped the screen and stapled it in place. once inside the box i removed the rear piece of interior trim and pushed the wood end of the screen in behind and re secured the trim back in place with some longer wood screws to hold it all in place and so that it would appear that the screen was more of a "factory" quality look. I also used some black duct tape on the edges of the scree to keep it from fraying and giving it some structure.
I will be getting the cab painted to match this week, But I ll be having that done professionally.
