What is wrong with a 3-3.5m cab? We lived for 9 month in a 3 x 2m camper box with no problems and i would rather go with the smaller box than going to a longer wheelbase.

Werner, what kind of camper box?
I also think a smaller box/ wheelbase is better. Depends on your needs ...

it keeps the Mog low and you dont loose lots of its offroad capability

I looked into a mog box - to put on a flatbed but it's too heavy for my truck. I'll figure out something. :)

It is a little both ways... I spent 6 years in NorCal and now 2 years in Texas.

I am still 100% an Aussie boy, but I have to say I love Texas. That and now I don't think I can afford to move back. Vehicles and fuel are so cheap here in the States (yes even now). DFW is one of the cheapest places to live in the country based on some report last year. The four biggest cities in Texas all placed in the top ten for couples last week. People drive trucks, go to Church and own guns. Last year I was giving my Aussie wife a hard time for going native, she went shooting and shopping the same afternoon. The USA is not Australia but I feel Texas is close, except for the whole sippin' tobacco thing, that's plain nasty........

In July we will welcome our first American into the family, but we will need to make sure she eats Aussie food early and starts to love to right spreads...

Aussie food in Texas
We have no ties to this shop other than spending lots of money there.

Americans do have it good here with some wonderful places to visit, but the red dust of the Outback sticks in your veins. We have only completed 25 of the US states so we still have lots of travel to finish, just need to find a reason to cross the big muddy......... so far West is best !!!
