Well, that's a first. I never seen a 'Mog with chrome rims! It would be an interesting rig if I lived in Alaska.

sort of a ridonkulous price- given U500 used prices are only 20kish more.
Probably not as bad a price as it might seem at first glance; Unimog restoration is extremely expensive. I imagine he's losing a fair amount of money even at $65K.

Tim's point about the price not being far off a used U500 is right. It's worth knowing, though, that their are many who would take this rig over the U500 for serious expedition work. The 416s are dead simple to keep running; not a hint of a computer or electronic control anywhere. The U500s have been decently reliable, but there's more chance that the village mechanic is gonna do some good with the 30-year-old truck. Me, I'd rather have the newer U500 'cuz I don't travel places where the village mechanic is my only alternative, but others would differ.

It's also worth noting that this rig is a double cab, and the cost of the aftermarket DoKa conversion for a U500 by itself would be more than most normal diesel Mogs cost.

Not that anybody cares, but I think it's cool (well, except for the chrome wheels and bumper, but they are easy enough to fix)
