...love to see some quick videos of the J30 in action, pushing top up, down...

Here's a really, really quick video, I had the prototype J30 on the Jeep again and shot this the other day. Working on the Habitat design/production of late...so haven't been on ExPo too much, but finally getting a moment to post up.

Cheers,
John

Very cool idea on a tent like this. I think 1 big plus is you don't have to have a roof rack and a big RTT sticking above your rig killing mpg. This is more of a low profile design and most probably could leave it on and fit in the garage. Wish something like this would be made for the LJ!

The first J180/AT has been delivered to the customer.
You can see a ton of pics in the Jeep-Wrangler-Habitat-Official-Release Thread.

But it's been quiet on the J30 front. Would still like to see interior shots, getting in, climbing up, closing panel, climbing down, etc. Hard to tell what it's really like getting up there and down without seeing it on video or at least some more pics. Maybe OE12 will be the first opportunity for most of us. Already plenty of info on the J180 and Nemo Habitat.

If they cut out the entire roof, where would you sleep?
There is not any more head room with either of the two tops because they have a floor in them.

Oh, pretty simple really, two or three individual pieces that lay on a track....stack on top of each other during day use, lay them out in a row for sleeping.

I dunno seems almost silly not to have the top cut open...can be done on other wagons, don't see why it can't be done on the Jeep.

Fresh J30 Pics from OX12

Had a chance to chat with John from UMV for a while. John is a great guy if you ever have a chance to meet him. Slick looking product with a quality fit and finish. Just wish it was taller in the back so one could sit up like in an Autohome tent - would make a world of difference in my opinion. Everything is very nicely done inside and out and with the capability to add load bars and a canoe, kayak, or quad (just kidding). This setup provides a nice option for a fast pop top that can carry a reasonable load.

Nice looking rig. Can you share your initial impressions of the J30? Did you get a chance to use it over the weekend? Did you have anything modified as part ofthe install?

Thanks,

Kelly
