I've been pondering something like this- getting closer to a US-made version of a Westy.
Lots more space to build a camper set up down below vs. the Element or Jeep.

Not sure if this will be continued or if this was a 1-time build for Backpacker magazine, but happy to see a prototype has been designed.

As an Ursa Minor J30 owner (the jeep top), I was really surprised when I saw this pop up (heh) on UM’s Instagram. The more I think about it, though, the more it makes sense. A converted connect could in many ways be a spiritual successor to the Honda Element camper. Pretty sure they have sold way more of those than Jeep campers. Hopefully a new Jeep JL model will emerge soon. Really no need for UM to chase the full size van market... seems crowded already.
