We don't use an extra pad in the J30, but it is not quite as comfortable as our Exped Mega Mat pads we use in tents.

Factory pad has been very comfortable but since I slept in it last. I cracked a couple vertebrae and squished a few discs.

Next camping trip will decide if more padding is needed.

Can you see Ursa Minor while you're laying in your Ursa Minor?

I've wondered for years now if one might put a sunroof in a roof top tent. Has anyone looked into or tried doing this to the j30? I usually sleep without a rain fly so I can look up at the stars when laying in bed. It would be nice to have a clear glass view of the starry night in something as awesome as the j30. The ability to do this is one of the few drawbacks that I can see in the j180.

I have slept the majority of my 6 months in the J30 with the ventilation panels wide open so it's only flyscreen. Because my head is at that end, everything "behind" and "beside" my eye line is sky and stars. It's awesome star viewing how it is.

I hope to find somewhere eventually with no mosquitos (hahahahahahahaha) so I can open it wide up for sleeping!
