usb cable for an etrex legend?

BTW with the cable hooked up to the laptop you don't need to plug into the 12v. The power comes thru the computer.

Any mini USB cable should work fine. The same kind that you use to attach a camera or cell phone via USB. The majority of them are interchangeable. As long as you have the required Etrex drivers loaded on your PC, you should be good to go.

I beleive the newere Etrex units actually use a USB connection (3.0??) at the GPS, but if you have the standard B&W Etrex, it used the custom connector that I beleive is only available in a serial port. I have the same setup and have never found one available. One could probably modify the cord? I'm going to upgrade to the new Etrex units soon..

Al, I've been down this road before. A Keyspan serial-to-USB adapter solved the problem.

I think the com ports got wacked when i rebooted with this cable. I love computers
