Wire twister
I didn't use F350 springs, only new spacers. The springs are the same diameter at the bottom. I did use some newer springs, and radius arms from a 2011 or 2010 van, because one of mine was wrapped under the van when I got it. It was also delivered on a very large forklift onto a flatbed, and then dragged off at my house, so it had some work to be done anyway.
I have seen where others were experimenting with different springs, but there is little need for it in my opinion. Since the van isn't 4wd, I don't have to worry about getting a lot of articulation out of the front wheels. I am not "wheeling" it, just light trails in the desert and mountains of Utah.
Nope, those aren't the ones. The ones I bought and didn't use are adjustable in two directions. Caster, and camber. Fancy! I had trouble getting them in, and then gave in and took the van to a shop. Theoretically they should have fit great, but I wasn't sure how hard I was supposed to pound them in. I found out later I also had bad ball joints, so that might have been fighting me, but I don't know. I just wanted someone else to do that bit.
So, used the black nylon spacers, stock springs from E350 Super Duty, longer shocks from Bronco (mistake, too light), and should have used longer bolts to hold in the spring retainer. Then I took it to a shop to have them determine the right bits to use. I should have had them figure out the shocks too, but I thought I could do it cheaper. Ah well, it bounces a bit.
