I am the new owner of a slightly abused 4x4 1997 Clubwagon 15 passager van and want to turn it into a two person camper. I am looking for some advice on the layout. Its not a hightop and i don't plan on making it one. Also who makes a good 12/120 volt fridge.

Get on Sportsmobile.com. They have a page where you can design your own floorplan. It's a hoot. You can even specify EB for Extended Body (15 passenger).

I know for my purposes, I'd divide up the space into living/gear storage space because we always have so much bikin and boatin gear. I'd build a full bed and put it as far back as it would be in a regular body van, then the rest would be walled off for rear access gear storage. Something to consider.

Norcold makes a good fridge. depending on size you pick, make sure your batt bank is big enough.

I agree, I always need room for lots of gear when I use the van, It's set up like a Sportsmobile EB201 with the couch opposite the side doors. At one time there was a cabinet behind the couch on the drivers side (sail cabinet) but it was removed by the former owner leaving a big 4'x6' area of the floor open at the rear of the van for gear (the bed of my Toyota is only that big). I'm happy to give up the cabinet space for floor space.
My father always built his vans with the bed or dinette all the way in back, but it left little room for storage and there would always be a big pile of stuff in the middle of the van to get around.
