Vegas Day Trips.

No way! I moved from Jacksonville 5-6 years ago! I lived off 103rd St. on the westside of town and also Chimney Lakes in the back of Argyle Forest. I'm so homesick. Just seeing you're from Jacksonville makes me miss fishing. Kind of hard to find fish here in the desert. We have Lake Mead, but there isn't much in there biting.

Glad you're enjoying the pictures and glad you're viewing them from a safe distance. Mine exploration isn't difficult. I hope I wasn't giving the impression that there's a trick to it. Other than the roping techniques, it really is just as simple as forming good habits and being paranoid.

Hey there, great pictures!! Ive been to quite a few of the ones you have shown. Its the best part of wheelin is find some of this stuff still intact and the hard work people use to put in. I'm in the nw near ann and 95. I drive a gray hummer H3T with a slant back. If your ever lookin for someone to explore with or we do a trip love to have you along.

I remember exploring horizontal mines near Big Bear as a kid with my Dad. Never used ropes but always used our 500 yards of twine to lead a trail in and out in case of dead end. I remember one we entered, ran out of string, but could see daylight, so we exited. The hike back was annoying, I wanted to go back through the mine. When we got back to the car, we untied the twine and pulled it back through.

Thanks for sharing your pictures, if I knew ropes, I probably would come join you, this stuff intrigues me.

Learning rope techniques isn't as difficult as it may seem. It's mostly about developing good habits. I'll admit that my habits are minimalist at best. I need to work on that.
