For low strength cabinetry, Celtec (PVC foam board) works well. It can be assembled using CA (super glue) to form rot proof, lighter weight cabinets. For extra strength corners can be reinforced by bonding aluminum angle stock (with CA or epoxy).

Thats what I use for my cabinets with welded alum cages and alumilite inserts. No paint black or white in color. Not terrible in cost.

How about posting some examples of the PVC foam board cabinets with and without the aluminum cages?
Sorry new caged are not complete. If I was doing it with no cage my buddy suggested dove tailing the edges.
