Vermont and The Adirondacks

The ADK area is a nice place. Wife and I spent some time up there camping 3 years ago. We loved it. Hope to go back sometime soon.

I loved the Nittos in the snow. I'm sure it helps that they are practically brand new as well. I hit some deep stuff 3 feet plus just for fun and they pulled me right along. 6 plus hours of driving some days in completely snow covered roads and they never slipped once. I drove a lot faster than I normally would in snowy conditions when I thought it was safe. I give them a thunbs up so far.

i live a block from Lake Champlain by Shelburne Bay 5 min from Burlington,

pm me if any of you come this way over the next few years as i finish school .... best part of Vt is the North East Kingdom

impressed with your trip! it's tough here in the winter, much harsher than out west or down south. Vermont has biting cold due to the amount of precipitation in the air

the thing about New England -

I went down to Andover Mass to pick up my gf when I was 17. My parents let me drive their new 4runner down to pick her up, but on the way back we got into a disagreement about where i as going to college and we missed our exit from I-91 to I-89. we drove up the NH coast and nearly ran out of gas. We stopped at a mom n pop store at closing time at 8 or 9 at night. They gave us directions and gas money as i had run out and had brilliantly refused money and a credit card for just such an occasion from my parents

That was 10 + years ago, of course that friendly type of altruism may no longer exist due to the exodus of people from Mass into Vermont :sombrero:

Boston is not known for being friendly or sober at any time of day :wings:

The most beautiful place in New England is in Vt - but i can't tell you publicly where tha might be :shakin:

VT rivaled a few places out west IMO. My gf and I are deciding about possibly either moving to Jackson Hole, or somewhere in VT for the summer and maybe longer.

if you have any questions about prospects in Vermont it would be my absolute pleasure to help with contact info for any services or recommendations for:real estate agents/rentals, places to explore, where to live for what, services recommended, time of year, etc etc

I don't think you could go wrong with either choice!

Good luck!:friday:

Zooropa, I'm heading through your way tomorrow actually. I've been in Lake Placid for a week and am heading over to Sugar Loaf, Maine. Great area no doubt.

They don't call us Mass Holes for nothing! :punk03:

Vermont is indeed beautiful and is also wonderfully laid back. The latter really aggravates most tourists from NYC and the Southern New England states. (Mass., RI, Conn.) but I love it. Despite being such a small state there's also lots to do all year round and plenty of places to escape civilization.

Cheers,
Graham

Well, be my pleasure to get a cup of Jo or share a bottle of vino if anyone comes into town - just give me a little notice my girlfriend just moved in so now my plans include hers from time to time :)
