Thanks, Ill try that.

I thought I measured 5.? volts at the bridge :headscratch
Ah, well, sorry, that's probably about right given that >7v needs to be applied in order to override the engine running detection circuit - it would make sense that there would be a low voltage present on the pins or I guess any voltage applied would override the engine running detection. Still, an LED switch would typically need at least 9v to light the LED, 5v wouldn't do much - and the voltage likely has no actual current behind it, so with a load present (like an LED) I wouldn't be surprised to see that 5v drop off to ~0 pretty immediately.

...I probably should have phrased that as "The Orion pins aren't providing any meaningful voltage out..."

OK, I got it!

Connecting to both the L and H pins didn't work. It would run in both switch positions. I used H pin only as in Fig 3b and picked up 12 for the LED with an add a fuse on a keyed hot circuit.
The other good news is that now in the off position, my battery tender doesn't turn the Orion on.

Call this project done!

Well that's bloody odd... I'll have to get in touch with Victron about their ignition switch diagram then, because from your experience, their ignition switch wouldn't work to shut off the charger with the ignition off :-/
Glad you got it working, though, and I'm keeping that little diagram for my own use too, thank you!
