video editing help

Ok so I have a panasonic dv camera. I got pinnacle software awhile back but just got to installing it. I have the camera hooked up to the pc via firewire and even though I can see the camera through the computer the program will not recognize the camera any idea for the computer challenged.

studio 9.4 There is an upgrade to version 10 now but hell I never got to use 9.4 LOL!

I can't figure out what's going on with your Studio 9. In the meantime, have you checked here?

I have Studio 9.3. In the "Capture" mode go to the "setup" menu and make sure that you have it set to capture from a DV camera. Studio is a great and easy editing program.

I don't think anyone needs to upgrade to version 10 unless you plan on shooting and editing HDTV video, for that is the main change Pinnacle made from versions 9 to 10.
