Massive storms seem to be getting more extreme every year. Climate change and extreme weather events seem to be related. The deadly storm Gloria struck the Balearic islands, Catalonia, the eastern coast of Spain, and France the week of 20 January 2020. This severe storm carried heavy torrential rain, violent winds, giant sea waves, and snow causing widespread damage (river floods, electrical power cuts, flooded railway lines, closed roads, crops destroyed) and loss of life. The next day we witnessed the destruction in some areas of Girona, and "El Maresme" in Catalonia.
