I caught the bug and Plasti Dipped the wheels on my GMC white. That was about two years ago, and they're still looking good. They were VERY white at first, but after a few months, it dirtied somewhat to match the white of my truck. Since then, they've been pressure washed a lot, and I use a wash brush on a handle that beats them up some when I go at them. I think I've probably put about 40k miles on the truck since I sprayed them.

I hope the black covers better than the white... I used a full can on each wheel to get them so I couldn't see through the white. Black is also a LOT cheaper, and readily available at the big box stores. :)

Speaking of that, I just picked up a can of black from HD to do the rear bumper... We'll see how it goes over chrome...

Btw, I also bought the spray can trigger adapter when I ordered the white, and it works awesome! No more sore finger from mashing the spray button! :)

Nice!

I Plasti-Dipped my rear spare so it'd be black like the rest of my wheels (it was chrome). Granted, it's only been actually mounted and connected to the road once (glad I had it!), but it's been on there for more than two years and looks great.

Plastidip is a cool product but I won't ever use on the wheels on my offroad rig again. Dust is no problem but if you end up in mud (like the thick clay type stuff) it will "stain" the plastidip and it's impossible to get it to look clean again.
