Bro, it is screaming for a SAS!! :p

Watch the video folks in my thread if you want to hear (sorry you can't see it) where he rubs. Jason is a maniac in the dunes and as he states, " if it shows an issue in the dunes it needs attention." He is 110% on the money with that statement, the dunes is hardcore on a truck. If a truck can survive the dunes it can darn near survive anything! I am now a firm believer in what he says, the dunes is going to tax your truck more than any other place besides hard core rock crawling trails which is a different beast not very common in overlanding. The dunes taxes the engine, trans, suspension, axles and overall is just very hard on a truck. He is rubbing at 50mph on full compression in bowls in the dunes, huge friggin' bowls, watch the video if you doubt me. Very slim chance you would find this rub any other place off-road. But with Jason, the dunes is the test...and he knows what he is talking about.

Cheers

I have the Slee heavies w/OME shocks. They are really stiff. I am hoping that once I have the cargo box in the back it will settle things down a bit.

Yours seems a lot taller than mine? I think the torsion bars have finally settled and I have the height up front dialed in. I hope as well that once I get my storage drawer system in the rear that it will settle the back down. I have to say that the suspension with no additional weight rides like a tank... I did like that at the sand dunes because the suspension works pretty well in the bumps but it is STIFF just around town. I will deal with it and like I said once I get some additional weight on it I'm sure it will soften up.
Last weekend I installed PFrans LED's and I have to say they are bad ***! I didn't order the reverse lights at first but promptly placed an additional order once I saw for myself how awesome these lights are! I also had the opportunity to install new CV boots and grease... It wasn't too bad, just time consuming, it probably took me 4 hours to do the first side and I did the second side in about three with a few cold ones in the mix. I was surprised at how easy everything was really, I would much rather do the CV axles than do a knuckle job on a solid axle! Well here are some pics.

Bad *** Lights!

Here are all the parts you need, I use diesel fuel and a cheap tub to clean all the old grease, it works very well.

All the girls in the yard love my milk shake!

New boots and new PFran clamps all cleaned up and ready to go back in.

I agree. CV's are easy and far less messy. If you're in a hurry you can leave the knuckle attached to the upper BJ and leave the brake hardware in place as well. Those outer axle clips bend easily when removed/installed. Not a bad idea to keep a few extra onboard. They are available in various widths from Toyota.

Looking good

I really like the leds! Looks great! I need to do that myself, was just looking at the kits last night.

I did a full led conversion on the FJ60, I don't think you saw it though before that truck was gone. Awesome upgrade, in the FJ60 in made the biggest difference in the dash.

We need some snow so we can do a bit of snow wheeling. ;)

Cheers

Yep, I've got the pfran LED kit and it is quite nice.

Krazytoy - that photo I posted looks a little weird. Here is a straight on shot. FWIW, the rear of the truck has nothing in it right now. 2nd and 3rd row seats and carpet all out of vehicle. Maybe that accounts for a bit of extra lift?IMG_0264.jpg

Thanks Fireball, that picture defiantly looks more like how mine sits.
So, I stopped over at the fab shop the other day and told them what I wanted for sliders and asked them if they would cut and notch the tubes and provided me with all the frame plates and gussets and all I would need to do is fit them and weld. Sure no problem, so a few days later here is what I got.

Same for the other side

Fit the bent bars to the straight bar, be sure to put in the kickers before you tack it together!

Very nice fitment

Square everything up and weld, weld, weld!

I will fit everything to the body this weekend then paint them up and weld them to the frame. I had my last set of sliders powder coated but with where we live and they use cider on the roads up here they get beat! I was not happy with how the powder coat held up and figure if I am going to repaint them every year or so why spend the money to powder coat them in the first place?

Those look good. Sliders are at the top of my list for next mods, I am still undecided if I want to build or buy.

Thanks guys! I started fitting the sliders to the body last weekend and then I realized that I needed to put on the 1" body lift I have from Jonsey's Off-road! So, I put the body lift on Sunday afternoon, what a nice complete kit that they offer, everything fit very well and my only complaint is the there directions SUCK! You might as well toss them in the trash they are absolutely no help, if I had not done the body lift in the 80 in the past it would have been much more of a pain in the ***. I got it done in about 6 hours and that was with having dinner with the family in the middle of the job, not bad if you ask me. Anyway I have the slider hanging in the garage being painted and I plan to put them on the 100 Friday night as we are probably going snow wheel in' on Saturday! Woo-hoo! I'll post pictures after I get them on.

Well I got the 1" body lift put on and have a few pictures of the height difference, I also moved the front bumper up and inch and I will do the rear bumper in the next few weeks. Got a chance to go out and do some snow wheelin' last weekend and I must say the 100 does pretty good in the snow, I was pleasantly surprised at its performance. I also did the e-locker mod so I can turn it on at anytime now and the center diff lock mod as well. Well I guess I didn't take any after pictures so here is a pic of snow wheelin'.

Ill take some pics this week so you can see the difference in the lift.

Well I have been slacking updating my thread... I had a side job to get done and I also bought a snowmobile to help occupy my time in the winter. No excuse I know so here what has been done in the mean time. I finally got the sliders painted and welded on, not the easiest thing to do in the pleasant Idaho winter, but thankfully my garage is now heated and it just makes a huge mess. We also cut the brackets off the roof rack that I had made for the old 80 Cruiser and made some new ones for the 100. One of my biggest complaints of the Cruisers is the lack of room, with 3 kids or a couple of buddies things get very tight. The roof rack is pretty big on this Cruiser but I think once I get the 4 HID lights in it and everything else on it it won't look so HUGE! Anyway its getting all the final welding done and then off to powder coat and hopefully have it installed in a few weeks.

Its hard to see them in these pictures, I know...

Fish Plated and welded to the frame in 4 locations with gussets off the top of the tube,

We just bent some plate and punched some holes to mount to the 3 stock locations, these brackets get directly welded to the rack, you can see it took some time to get the bends just right to hit the bottom tube of the rack. These plates will get a gusset down the middle of them to help with deflection.

Here it is just sitting upside down on the stands, the cross supports will get doubled up and an aluminum floor will get bolted down.

And here it is all fitted up and where it will ultimately end up, like I said I think once the lights are mounted it won't look so big in the front. I have 4 7" HID lights for up there.

I'll update again once it gets powered coated and the floor is done.
Next up is the drawer system in the back...
