These Volvo axles are portal type and so they tend to twist when they bend - so not easily straightened - although I hear they can be reinforced to prevent it from happening.
I have never heard about problems with the axles, they are really heavy duty stuff. I you manage to bend this axles you probably need medical intensive care or an undertaker.
