How do the Syncros hold up against Delica L300's in off-road capability and reliability? One can buy a very low mileage absolutely pristine L300 for about $15000, and camper-build from there. What would the Syncro have over the L300?

The Delicas are cool vehicles as are many of the JDM import toyotas, but parts are a pain and so is finding anybody that will work on them if you don't wrench yourself. One of the really special things about owning a Westy is the aftermarket and community support. There is basically no job you'd need to tackle that doesn't have a youtube tutorial or a detailed samba thread.
