So my CF-50 is on the fritz.
I think its the control board because the unit works when I turn it "emergency on" but only to freeze everything. The lights etc don't work.

I've gone back and forth with Dometic. The places they have told me to call for servicing so far have said they don't work on waeco's.

Dometic's last response was to say that, they just bought Waeco recently and don't deal with them a lot.... Soooo....

Anyone have a good place to have one looked at? Anyone do it themselves?

Sorry to hear of your trouble. I had a very similar problem while mine was still under warranty. I was directed to take it to a place here in Phoenix- don't remember where, but in a week or so they told me to come in and pick up a brand new replacement.

Good luck!

Thanks Donna.
I wonder if when Dometic bought it, things changed. I tried to email Justine and it was bounced back. I need to get myself someone specifics email over there.
I think that will be the key to getting some help from them.

Well, after making zero progress with Dometic. I decided to email Waeco AUS with some questions. The customer service man named Danny emailed me right back within an hour. He then CALLED me international to go over the unit with me and walk through some diagnosis.

In summary...
Dometic = Dead fish for christmas
Waeco AUS = A giant thank you!

Its not fixed yet, but at least I feel like I have someone who will stay with me until its all figured out.

For future reference to others.

A-Z marine at 619-224-1606 was able to help me and was recommended by Dometic.

Control board has been ordered.

They go out of their way in oz to keep owners happy:arabia: .
When had I start up problems(my cars fault) they payed for it to be checked by one of their repair shops just to make sure I was happy.
They bench tested it in front of me and then found the fault in my landcruiser electrical system free of charge.
Never had a problem since:REOutArchery02:

Tim are they just sending the control board to you? Or do you need to send the fridge to A-Z marine?

I just wish that a different US distributor was in charge of them, but you're right. Waeco AU is great!

They are just sending me the control unit. Pretty cheap at 45 bucks.
I'll just install it myself. It currently sits on the stairs in a million pieces!

New control unit in... Still not working.
talked to Waeco Aus and they are happily shipping me the other control unit for FREE. Talk about customer service. That suckers coming half way around the world.

Dometic on the other hand suggested I send the unit to an authorized dealer.

Since I also own a Waeco fridge, I am closley watching this thread.

No problems with mine once I hard wired it to my trailer's 12V supply. Good to know where to find support if a problem does crop up.
