WALL-E
Wall-E is a 1991 Toyota Pickup that had a 2.4l 2L-TE turbo diesel swapped into it, making the truck nearly identical to the Toyota Hilux available outside of North America. After traveling North America for two years in “Bruce” the F-250, I was ready for something a bit smaller, especially with our plans of wanting to head South down the Pan American Highway. I found Wall-E for sale on Expedition Portal, the previous owner also had plans of taking it down the Pan American Highway but never started the journey. When I purchased the truck, he had already done a few modifications, some of which I kept, while others were removed or altered to make the truck what I wanted.

Seeing how you've been in both a full sized truck with a hard sided camper and a mid sized truck with a pop up camper, can you talk about the pros and cons of the vehicles and campers. I'm a surfer too, so if any of your decisions were directly related to surfing, you can mention those too. Thanks!

Looking for an update also. I would be interested to hear what kind of mileage and egt temperatures you are getting? How many miles have you put on the 2nd gen heads?

Such a great rig. My luck wasn't as good with the L engine, i brought one in for myself in 2004 and though it was a sweet engine I was getting the milkshake in my oil pan in the first summer.

If you follow him on IG you can see everything hes done to it. He's replaced all sorts of engine parts.

I've met Basil a few times and live up the street from where he is living/parked. Such an awesome rig! I miss seeing big ol bruce cruising around our small beach town tho.

Saw on his IG that he took off for his long trip and he was in Denver and decided he does not want Wall-E anymore because oh hot little and under powered it is and he is selling it and looking for a Tundra.
