Wanted: T100 Flatbed Images

Does anyone have any pictures of a flatbed on a T100? I found a truck that's been in an accident and needs a bed (or bedside). I was thinking though... how about a flatbed? For my application, a flatbed would be very practical, and likely about the same price (or less) to fab as it would be to find a used bed or fix the one that the truck currently has on it.

But then, I've never seen a T100 with a flatbed... would it look ridiculous? If you have any pics (and/or feedback on the idea of adding a flatbed to a T100), please post 'em.

Thanks!

I would be embarrassed for the person who has saved more T100 pics from the web than me, and I got nuthin'...

The closest thing I can recall to seeing a flatbed on a T100, was on a 2wd reg cab long bed, but it was more of stake bed with wooden rails - total landscapers vehicle.

I've daydreamed about having a custom flatbed to accompany my Four Wheel Camper, complete with storage boxes & drawers. I could really maximize the outside space and increase my storage, while possibly lightening the vehicles' overall weight. Just a daydream, but it looks really good in my head...

(Hope that's a '96-'98 T100, that you're looking at....) :coffee:

I personally like flatbeds on just about any truck, but think of it this way, if it does look rediculous you could always just slap on a set of fiberglass bedsides - BAM- instant pre-runner/racer in progress look (kinda)

Man just go for it and order an AUstralian "Ute Bed" like Nulifier did. I think that with the added width of the T-100, a flat bed would be awesome. Let's put it this way, a flat bed will only improve on teh T-100 platform so why not do it. IF the trucks already a good deal, what can it hurt??? Oh adn since you're right up the road, I'd love to see this thing when you're done. hell if you want help I'm always willing to lend a hand mate.

KC-
You always crack me up. I'm right there with you though, in my head it looks awesome. However, in someone's else's head the Bertone Stratos also looked awesome, but once they made it, it looked a lot like a doorstop. I don't really want to end up in that situation, so I thought I'd discuss the awesomeness level before hand and bounce it off of some folks that might be able to clearly visualize this, or who may have actually seen one before. And yes, I'll only consider the later models of T100's.

Dave-
Although I've never actually met you, on an awesomeness scale of 1-10 you're somewhere around an 11. This is due to your "just go for it!" suggestions in this and many other threads, as well as your eagerness to lend a hand anytime. Also, you live in Oregon, and that alone gives you an automatic 5+ on the awesomeness scale...

Yeah, the Bertone was a door stop:

But it spawned one of the coolest and best looking cars of all time IMO:

Jeez James, I don't know what to say mate. Thanks. I was looking through myu pics today and I have one of a Patrol Cab-Ute with a covered flatbed that tapered in at the top and had a canvas cover laced to it... Now THAT would be one sweet thing to do to a T-100.

WHere is that pic...

Here it is:

X2 mate, I have loved that Stratos since I first saw one back in the 80's on TV... With the advent of Youtube I've been watching all kinds of Group 5 and later Group B footage(and the later Lancias)...Man now THAT was a racing series. Nascar what???

Must be something in the air, I've been thinking a lot about flatbeds lately too. I've actually got one planned in my head, and it will have a matching custom shell for camping.

So it's not a T100, but here's a rendering of what I'm thinking:

I may raise the platform higher to allow more storage underneath, accessible from side and rear drawers. OBA and OBW will be integrated.

I figure for what I could sell my box bed for, I can easily buy the materials to build what I really want.
