Hi there I am looking for a hitch mounted Tiregate for my Subaru Forester in the LA/OC Southern Cali area. I am in Orange County. Please let me know if you have one for sale. Looking to spend $300-$400.
Perpixel Tiregate is based in LA when I got mine I picked it up down there and new it was just over $400.
I also own a Subaru and the tire gate alone is a large chunk of the rated tongue load for the subaru add a tire and your pretty close to max add some gear in the back of the car and your dragging your bum over every little hump in the road. I use the Tire gate on my truck and my old Landcruiser before it. GREAT gear works great but its heavy and I can't see using it on my subaru given I would loose much needed hauling capacity and end up with a very droopy draggy tail end. Given your in a forester which is even more limited in its load capacity than my OB, I would suggest spare tire mounted in a roof basket. I would only haul the full size spare in the Subaru for trips like say CA to Alaska or the occasional Desert trip which case I would probably strap it down inside and just deal with it taking up some space. But if I were doing lots of trips I would just opt for a roof basket with a proper strap down method and push the rack as far forward as possible to keep the load weight as forward as possible.
This is what I have on my Porsche. Instead of the high lift jack mount I asked for a Roto pack mount.
