Wanting a 100 series and found a LX470

We decided to hold off on the purchase of this LX after talking to the dealer a few times I was not very impressed. I asked for pictures of the undercarriage and was told it was fine but they would not do pictures for me. I also asked about condition hoping for some clear information as to the vehicles state. I was told to look at the pictures "it is what it isn't" I was told. Just got a bad vibe and decide to wait and keep looking at my own pace. Maybe some can post the link in the for sale other places section. If someone is close and want to check it out in person, they may have better luck.
Thank you all for the great info.

I'm in the same boat. Plenty of LXs, but I prefer to classic look of the LC and don't really want to face the possible issues of AHC. Been looking for about 3 weeks and just decided to bump my budget up.

You made a good choice - I found a "too good to be true" deal on an LX470 in the same color, and quickly found out that the color was likely the cause for the low price. Tons of issues, not worth the headache.

And a shady dealer alone is cause for walking away. Good decision!

Not much you can do in that case. Probably a good idea that you passed on it.

One will definitely turn up that will be a good fit.

4 1/2 years ago, when I was looking for a used LC, I couldn't find any that weren't beat or high mileage. However, LX's were far more available and in usually much better shape, with lower miles, at the same or lower prices than their LC counterparts. At the end of 2009, I found an '02 LX at a Lexus dealer in Utah. It had all service records from Lexus (which Lexus sent me) and was in 9/10 condition with 68k miles. I'd really wanted the LC badging and cache until I finally saw the vehicle. It met my needs for a Land Cruiser as well as my desire for a luxury rig. The Mark Levinson stereo is awesome (but not easily modified to do Bluetooth which I solved by using a GOGroove FM/BT unit that works pretty well). I was very leery about the AHC but it had been serviced shortly before the sale and it's been a non-issue for me. I don't wheel and the rig is stock except for the removal of the running boards and running Big O AT tires in 265/75/16 instead of the stock 4-ply 275/70/16's.

Bottom line, I believe one will have a much easier time of finding a clean, low miles, LX over a similar LC (they simply made more LX's).
