Definitely a cool idea, but at that weight with the realatively light pulling power, I see it being to large. Make it a 12000lb'er, put it on a Power wagon, and now we're talking. I wonder if the resevoir and coolrer are what make it so large.

The advertisement says they make it in an HD and an HP version. The HD version has a 12,000 lb. capacity.

It is indeed a clever combo. Saves the wiring with only one run to make. A winch + an Oasis would easily come to the same combined weight if not more. If you want to shed some serious pounds, replace the steel cable with synthetic. It'll probably lose 50Lbs right there! I give it a thumbs up. I hope to see it at Off Road Expo this weekend.

I don't think the net weight is the problem, really. We can always replace the winch cable to save weight with any winch, but in this case we'll still have the mass of the compressor bits hanging out front.

Maybe I'm missing something. What's bad about maybe 25 more lbs up front, down low, attached to the frame?

The other thing is it'd cut off a good deal of air flow over the radiator from the looks of it.
