*WARNING* sanding military paint

+1. My wife is an occupational health and safety consultant, mainly working with the US and Canadian militaries ....she gets involved with a lot of CARC issues at government contractor plants. I really worry about folks buying a mil-spec vehicle and deciding to sand the CARC off. Applying it is worse.

Great info..thanks for sharing!

As an owner of a M116A2 about to start on a new build..I'll certainly take special precautions.

Are welding fumes near the paint an issue also?

Thanks, Pat

I've been using chemical stripper to remove the paint. Works great on the paint that someone had added later, but the original paint takes several attempts to remove.

Respirator and got air circulation is always a good idea when sanding or sandblasting.
