Was wondering who this was??

I like the fourth generation Buick Regal it looks to be a 1998. They just don't make them like they did back in 1983 to 1987 with the Grand National. Those GM cars like the Grand National with the Garrett supercharger, Hurst/Olds 442 with an 8.5” rear end, and Monte Carlo SS could get the front end to lift up easily at take off. Thanks for posting a picture of that nice example of a Regal.

Ouch!! :Wow1:

Maybe ..... um ...... he just needed to go to the mall???
Is that not allowed if you own a LC?
Note to self, NEVER take the LC to the mall unless ridicule and sarcasm is pending on the horizon, always take the sedan

Was thinking the same thing! Next time I go to the mall with my toddler to buy groceries in my nicely equipped LC100 with mud tires, which is also my DD, I'll make sure there is nobody with a camera about!

Hmmm....$80K truck, another $10K in mods. There's either a Gucci store at that mall or he's stopping by Godiva for trail chocolate on the way out of town to wheel the hell out of a very nicely built truck!!!

One of the following just occurred:

1 - Congratulations to you for judging a vehicle and owner by a single picture. You just won the most ignorant post of the day award.

2 - My sarcasm meter is very broken.

Tell me which one it is. Already enough assumptions in this very short thread.

Pete

Haha! I was kidding with the whole thing. I needed something to do. I was bored. I needed to laugh at myself for thinking this. The highlight of the day during the summer is either going to the grocery store or coming home from work! I don't get out much during the summer.

Of course, it could have been someone whose sedan is in the shop and needed to take the truck to get a pair of dress shoes to replace aging ones. Or someone whose phone was run over or dropped hard on a National Forest service road and needed to replace it at the phone kiosk. Who knows? I mean, come on, do I know what color panties or underwear (for the guys) you are wearing today? Some people actually act like they do indeed know in daily living, and it cheeses me to no end sometimes.

I see the joke in it. I'm glad y'all are having fun with it... but... I know the owner and can assure you that is sees trails. Its first outing was the Toyota Jamboree 2010, bone stock at the time, the owner took it down level 3 trails in the rain. We did have to go help him out of a trail, but that was only because he took a wrong turn and ended up having to go up a steep hill climb (certainly a level 4 trail in the rain) and he had street tires and no winch. If you look closely you will find "country" pinstriping. Make no mistake, the 200 series LC is a very capable vehicle on the trails, even in stock configuration.

I guess he (or more likely his wife) had to go to the crawl the mall... :snorkel:

Carry on!

You should ask him if he is coming to the Summit. I would love to ask him a few questions about is LC. Thanks.

I didn't mean to start the stream comments that followed mine; I truly meant it as good natured ribbing. Apologies to the owner if you're reading this and took offense... I hope the smiley instead of a  conveyed poking fun and not harsh ridicule.

I do occasionally drive my cruiser on the pavement or even to the store sometimes, and I agree completely that we can't tell what this guy does or doesn't do with his rig based on it being clean and at the mall on street tires.

Nope, he can't. He has been banner forever since he visited a mall. Everyone knows you only shop at the roadside shop outside Maun in Botswana. That is the only real place to buy stuff. The mall is banned for expo people. :)

Damn, it's raining cats and dogs and I had to take my cruiser to the supermarket because my wife took the Volvo........banned forever you said?

At least the mall garage is built high enough for him to park there more out of sight. :hehe:

Not one in SoCal in my area can I do that!

Silly Expo Critics....

A trip to the mall is required to buy expensive multi-pocket khaki clothes and exotic folding chairs. If you don't have those you'll get banned :ylsmoke:

So on topic..... Back when the 200 series hit California I saw a guy run one bone stock up Gold Mountain at Big Bear, running boards included. That thing made it up with little effort compared to all of the highly modded FJ cruisers. The owner of this thread's vehicle has got the money to equip a brand new 200 very well. I think that some folks are just jealous because:

  1. They had to buy some old clunker to fit their limited budget
  2. Save pennies to buy used gear
  3. Slowly upgrade over many months or even years
  4. Can't use it as a comfortable daily driver
  5. Not everything works reliably
  6. Warranty? What warranty?

I'll bet your vehicle would do a lot of damage to those weak parking structures! That rig is a beast!

We are all snobs at some point anyhow. (LOL) Just get a wide eyed newbie out on a trail run and watch them go through the learning curve as we have. Helping them learn safely is the best antidote to snobbiness

Can't you just grandfather me in? Please?! I don't want to get banned! I don't have the money yet! I'm working on it...
