Water Can

No experience with ProQuip, but I'm looking for one or two of these cans also so I'm very interested in what you find.

Out of curiosity, did you ask about nozzles to fit? It looks bigger than the standard NATO nozzle... more like the apparently-unavailable wedco second gen...

Figured I'd follow up on the status of these water cans. The folks that make this can were very friendly and helpful in trying to locate a U.S. distributor, but in the end the only way to get a hold of these cans was to order them from Australia.

The cans themselves are similar to the seemingly impossible to find 2nd gen Wedco water can in that they have the inner lining and the larger mouth. There is currently no spout that will fit these cans. The price per can is about $65 U.S. which pretty much put them out of the question for me. Additionaly, shipping is considerably more expensive then the cans themselves.

I was looking forward to purchasing a few of these, but until there is a distributor in the U.S. and/or the price comes down some I think they will remain out of reach.

i have two of the wedco gas cans but decided to go with scepters for the water. The opening of the scepter is large enough to fit your arm in the to give it a good scrubbing every once and a while.

I got my wedco's from expedition exchange. May wanna check there if you haven't yet.

Ditto - the ability to completely clean out the inside is a great feature if the cans are ever used to hold "questionable" water that is later filtered into a clean can. Also, the Scepter MWCs are so easy to pour from, I've never bothered looking for a spout.

Not sure if this will work for you but they are a similar item:

I bought two of these when cheaperthandirt was selling them. Brand New condition.

I looked at the Sceptre option, but my can carrier relies on the three-handle NATO-style design to clamp the cans to my bumper.

I just ordered two of these from Deutsche Optik -- looks like they'll work for me, so we'll see how they turn out. Thanks a lot for the link!

You may try LCI as well. They are another military manufacturer for plastic water cans and are only about $17 each, shipped. The major difference is they say "property of US Government" I am very satisfied with mine including using some as a jack stand the other day...

I bought 4 of the LCI cans and could not find a difference other than the "Property of" markings. You can find them on ebay as well.

IIRC i paid $15.99 per with free shipping. One arrived with a leak, customer service sent me out a new cap immediately.

My Scepter can on right, LCI can on left.

And again the LCI.

I have 5 of the LCI cans and they drip (slightly) when stored on their side if the cap is not hella tight.
None of the 4 Scepter cans that I have leak at all.
I have used theses LCI cans for about 8 years though, pretty rough handling too.

I doubt they'll fit well but has anyone tried the wedco fuel can holders from EE with a Scepter can?

I like the fact that the mount can be low profile when not in use.
