Small tip: if possible enter the water slowly if your diffs are very hot (ie lots of sand driving) and the water is cold. I blew a diff pinyon seal and I believe it was because the instant change in temp overwhelmed the breather line and forced pressure equalization through that 13 year old seal.

Another trick: if your door seals aren't very good and water tends to leak in, you can close your windows and turn the fan on high to create a slight positive pressure inside, which helps keep the water out. DO NOT do this if you are unsure of water depth and have electric windows - you want an open window to crawl out of if things go wonky.

Yes, walk, except perhaps in croc territory. I met an Aussie up in Cape York who always let his wife walk the croc waters, while he stood on his truck with the rifle - said he was a better shot than she was.
