Water Damage Prevention

Hi all;
I'm new to this website so I'm a little confused how to search for some info, I want to know what can I do to get some protection to my engine compartment from water damage ( wires, electronics, distributor,etc). Also is there anything I can put on my doors to prevent water to get inside the cab ? Thanks in advance.

Rust does a body good.
This question can be highly dependent on what model truck and engine we are talking about.

Agree with above as far as engine goes.

Factory weatherstrip should be all you need for the doors. The harder it is for water to get in the harder it is to get out. There are hundreds of spots water can get inside your vehicle and doors are only one of them. Besides, if it seals too well then your cruiser will bob in the water which is never good so you would have to open your doors anyways to let water in

If you cross water, it will keep out of the cab, if you stay in it for a while, you wont be able to prevent it from coming in..

On the engine compartment the story is different, and it will help if you told us which vehicle and engine you own so we can tell you exactly what you can do to help.
