Water Pumps?

Hey guys-- I'm starting the water tank install for my van, and want to know if any of you can recommend any water pump brands? I'm basically going to install a 15-20 gallon tank with exterior access and I want a pump so I have running water while camping. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!!

Both ShurFlo and FloJet are quite popular brands with a few different models. They push some serious water. Available at RV supply stores.

I have Surflo on demand type pump on my camping trailer and it works fine. RV supply places are loaded with the different availbale options.

I would usually recommend a pressure tank with any water system, but this one does not seem to need it, as it uses a variable speed motor. OTOH, simple may be better, a conventional pump and tank is less likely to fail...

I've installed and serviced Shurflo and Flojet, both are good in my book. I've also abused...I mean, used...both myself and was happy with both. Be sure to get a rebuild or service kit to have with you (to insure you won't need it) and a screen-type filter somewhere in line.

The model you chose should be able to self-prime at least 4 feet or so and run dry without damage, too.

The main purpose of the pump will be for stuff like hand washing & cleaning dishes &. Right now, I don't take many trips longer than a few days, so I don't need anything high flow for showers. Thanks for all the info-----

You might be just fine with a Rocker Pump Faucet or you could move on up to an actual pump (12v) similar to this one.

Yea, here's what I'm thinking of doing: Install the pump & tank, and put an access door using a locking fuel door on the pass side of the van. I like the faucet, and maybe I'll attach it to my camp kitchen somehow. My next quest is to find some cool quick connects to put inside the access door.--

I don't know how "Heavy" duty you want your connectors to be, there are the water hose type qwick connects. All the way to self seal type for hydraulic hoses. They have check valves in the connectors.
