Water Storage Freezing Question

Question, that heat tape used to wrap water lines, if wraped around a tank, would that work? They don't draw much and guess you could run off an inverter and a battery.

Last time I checked the amount of water in the world hasn''t changed. My lavish shower is your tooth brushing water.

As far as freezing, water for winter use needs to be inside the heated envelope. Electric tanks heaters are for shore power.
The first question is what is supplying winter heat? That energy has to be a liquid fuel as the only source that has sufficient energy density. That source must be what keeps you fresh water liquid.
The math doesn't work with electricity.
Keep it simple

So what exists on the market today that could be retrofitted to an existing rig or included in a new build to heat and/or prevent freezing in tanks and plumbing that does not use electricity?

Many people are using an hydronic system to heat their campers, if using this method, running a line through selected tanks to warm up the liquids a little bit could be used, otherwise, tanks need to be internally mounted, it would also need some insulation around those exterior tanks.

Trouble is you might need heat for several days straight and any reasonable capacity battery would not last the distance.

European expedition trucks I've had a look at have insulated basements and either run hydronic heating pipes around the tanks, or a couple I saw had a separate webasto air top to heat the basement.
