Weight of your fully loaded AT?

Whats your AT weight and towing experience with a TJ?

I don't have a TJ but tow my AT Chaser with a 3.4 V6 in my Tacoma. I estimate my Chaser is 1500 lbs loaded. This past week we took it over some pretty rough trails in Colorado, Medano Pass and Colony Lakes Trail, and I was very pleased with how easy it was to tow. The truck handled it like it was almost not there. I think if you had a trailer that weighed around what mine does you'd have no problem towing it.

Towing my Chaser with my LJ Rubi, 4.10 gears and 33 tires is great , only at the hills and inclines I have a slight problem, but will be solving that in a couple weeks, going to 4.56 gears, when a buddy and I are going to re-gear ourselves. As for regular towing it is plain awesome no troubles. My weight loaded I guess between 1000 to 1500 lbs.

I had an 03 Rubicon Auto with 35" tires and 4:88 gears. Towed just fine with the Chaser #15. I weighted it on the semi truck scales coming back from the Expedition Trophy. The weight was 1920 pounds. I now tow it behind an 07 Rubicon Unlimited. It tows similar to the 03. You will be down to 50 mph on the really long hill climbs.

I run 35's, 4.88, 6 speed. Chaser in tow for a total of 7200lbs fully loaded. I know my LJ weighs 4900 fully fueled so that means the AT Chaser was 2300lbs. That's loaded to the top, 10 Gal of fuel, and 19 gal of water. I really expect that to be the worse case for me since that particular time was carrying spare axles shafts and lots of other heavy stuff that isn't necessary for normal expedition use.

With the 4.88's I have no problem staying at speed. I have a Scanguage and with playing it I have found that at 60MPH and in 5th gear gives me an average trip MPG of 15. Not bad at max weight. We carry way more crap than needed (I can't blame my wife for all of that) but there's room for anything I want to take.
