I know travel isn't that important on a trailer, but how much do you think you now have?

PS, Looks real nice.

Both great questions! Sadly I cant answer either haha. I havent had the chance to get the trailer out on the road yet but I will shortly! The tow vehicle was receiving a suspension swap so im crossing my fingers for a test run this weekend

Chris, what was your orignal bolt pattern on your axle for the old wheels you had before the spacers?

I have a Jeep Wrangler JKU and I had the hubs match the tow vehicle. I've been doing some thinking and I might end up getting rid of the Jeep and getting a Tacoma. Unfortunately I spent a lot of money for matching tire sizes to match the Jeep. 35's aren't cheap and I don't know how easy it'll be to sell a pair of 35s and wheels.

If I do go the Tacoma route I'm going to need to figure out a new wheel/tire combo on the TD to match the tow rig. The wheels I have now are 4.5" backspacing and I have no idea what the Tacoma's are since I haven't done a whole lot of research on that yet.

First step I gotta take is persuade the wife to let me get rid of the Jeep and get a Tacoma. Second step is replacing the wheels and tires on the trailer after that cost me a pretty penny and haven't seen a single trail yet. Maybe I can find another Jeep guy building a trailer who needs wheels and tires.

The original pattern was JK bolt and those wheels and tires were traded to AT for the new hubs and bearings etc. The good news is JK pattern should be the easiest to move and you hit the nail on the head with those wheels and tires going to someone building on the forum. That is at least what I have done before.

I would recommend waiting to buy new ones until you KNOW what wheels and tires it will have. The spacing changes depending on the wheels. Im in the same situation at the moment and feeling like an idiot. I want to swap all the wheels to stock spare rims but dumping six 4runner trail wheels is easier said then done. Good news is the stock spares are cheap compared to mine so Im hoping I can get at least five and use my spare as the 6th if need be.

Just show your wife one of the 400,000 mile tacos. Things actually make sense as an investment.

Well the only issue is that the Toyota is a 6 lug. I'm looking at the TRD Offroad packages. Might be buying new.

Another you might want to find out is if the wheels are lug centric or hub centric.....that would guide your spacer purchase.

i.e....when I put my new axle under the trailer, it was only available in 6 x 5.5 in lug centric....I needed Spider Trax to convert them to hub centric ( meaning the center of the wheel is positioned around a raised ring on the Spidertrax)

stupid question, whats the difference between the 2?

Sorry...thought you meant 2" spacers vs. 1-1/4"...doh

I honestly don't know unless you needed the extra projection because of wheel offset. The Spidertrax are 1.25 IIRC.

Don't worry...Mike will save you...dope..

Hub Centric Vs Lug Centric

I think this is what you're looking for in a description Rubicon08.

Good save Mike....:ylsmoke:

You can either do a spacer that changes the bolt pattern or swap hubs. I swapped hubs and then still ended up needing a spacer. Uhg
