Love the pics, the trip and especially the 4Runner- nicely/tastefully done! I just read your build thread on toyota 120- funny, I don't like the looks of my roof-rack sitting so high on the stock cross bars either unfortunately there aren't too many options out there for my truck though. You need to post a copy of your build thread here so we can ask questions...I'll PM ya.

Thanks, I have tried to keep it clean. I have seen people buy universal racks and have someone fabricate simple mounts. PM away with any questions. I'll eventually post a build here. I don't have a whole lot of expo mods. Maybe I'll throw one together after I get some drawers set up.

Thanks! I was actually the one taking the picture. Daniel is on the rock with another friend that met us in Telluride.

Ahh, got it. You'd have to do some pretty long distance triggering for that one :).

Thought I might have recognized those spots on the SFA, but as you mention, there's lots of 'em.

Awesome video and trip report. Definitely wish I would have done something like that before I got a "real job" and the family thing happened. Thanks for sharing. Posts like this make we want to get the heck out of town!!!

Why not sleep under the stars or an EZup? I rarely setup a tent because as you mention it can be a repeated hassle.

We only set the tent up half the time. We slept outside when bugs or wildlife weren't major issues and slept in the truck when we rolled into camp after midnight. I have been thinking about using an ARB awning with a net. I'm not sure how much easier it would be to set up. The tent took 9 minutes with the rain fly. We also had to unpack the cots and sleeping bags for the night. So probably 20 minutes a night was dedicated to setting up the tent. In reality though, it's not that big of a deal. If I had to choose between another trip and a tent, the decision would be easy.
