What a great yota truck

What rock crawling tech came from desert racing?
They are completely different worlds.

Shock or Dampener technology to be correct.
Suspension design.
The geometries of good suspension are still important.

Leaf springs and emulsion shocks don't work well in Rock Crawling anymore. That tech came from desert racing.

Shock tech I can agree for sure. My first thought was solid axles, I was sitting there scratching my head as to how they could even be remotely useful on a desert truck haha.

Hey I enjoy all types of off-roading. I have a big gnarley expensive rock crawler. It is fun but doesn't get used enough since to go rock crawling is a drive for me. When the truck sits for months I often think, damn I got a lot of cahs tied up in this truck and it sits a lot. Then I take it out and forget all that, huge smiles on my face and I remember how much fun it is to drive my rock crawler.

My Taco is very mild. I don't wheel it much because I don't want to beat it up. But it is fun to take it off-road too.

And I do also enjoy seeing somebody who just gets in a stock truck and uses it! In fact that is what a lot of my website is about. Putting old trucks back on the road to use them....

I just hear it often on Expo, rock crawling is not for me, I don't like it, it sure beats the crap out of your truck. That is all good but again, it is not a lot different than taking a stocker through some hard lines.

Yup. I dont have a crawler, but I sure do want one :D
I do however Downhill MTB even though I live in Edmonton Alberta and its a min 4hr drive to get to any decent riding. I always wonder the same thing, why do I have thousands invested in a bike that pedals like shiat, then I goto BC for a week and it all comes back to me.

excatly! Thing is it is much easier to take your bikes somewhere than it is to put a truck on a trailer and tow it to say Moab. That is it for me, my rock crawler has to be towed since it has full hydraulic steering. Expensive toys are just that but man oh man they are fun when you get a chance to really use them.

haha true that man. The beauty of 2 wheels. Even with my Canopy and 5ft bed I can take the wheel off, stand the bike up, and sleep beside it. Its a bit tight but its been done :D
