So I called up on the following ad, all excited. Conversation as follows:
Me - Hi, I'm calling about the Range Rover
Him - yah, it has been smogged before, I've had it for 5 or 6 years...
Me - so, what makes it a $500 truck?
Him - Well, when we dropped in the Chevy engine...
Me - what?
Him - It's got a Chevy 350.
Me - never mind. *click*

damn...

here's the ad if anybody's interested. There's also a Rover engine on Craigs so you could theoretically return it, but it's more time and effort than I have available right now.

Four wheel lockers?

Ironically, Range Rover Chevy V8 conversions were offered in England for years from companies such as Overfinch.

A manual-transmission beater Rangie would be a great project!

Oh I know it's not unheard-of... I just truly love that old Buick V8. A 1989-1993ish Range Rover SWB is the only vehicle that has any chance of replacing my 'zoo.

Man they just shot themselves in the foot. A late 80's to mid 90's D90 in any kind of shape is worth 20k. My buddy Jay has repeatedly been offered more then he paid for it NEW for his 93 D90. Its got trail rash from hell too.
second picture down with the sign on it...check out the rear fender...the other side is worse.

He's not afraid to get it dirty. I haven't talked to him but word is he brock the front axle last weekend. That will make the third broken axle in that truck.

For the record...the engine is a Buick in those years. The problem is where its at. They can't get it smogged in CA for some reason. I could smog it no problem in GA as long as it has a cat and passes the sniffer...they wont even lift the hood. :D
