..I realize the term "Bikepacking" has and still is loosely described and as a result has a couple variable meanings.
...The one that comes to mind for me is:
A combination of bike touring and backpacking often on more of a mountain bike with combined on and off road for extended periods of time..
How one packs for bikepacking as well as everyday riding is defined by the rider as in needs, desire, and comfort level of each trip..
..I should probably add that although I do have "ultra lite" gear such as a sleeping bag at 1.5 pounds and a 1.5" regular pad that weighs 1 pound, I know other minimalist will carry less on their bikepacking trips..
But again I thought this thread would allow us all to share what we carry on our bikes no matter what or how we ride as I beleive I too have something to learn and to share growing up with the start of bmx to bikepacking...I'm not much of a touring guy although I try to get a 35 mile ride to the beach and back every couple of months..
I hope others feel welcome enough to continue sharing what they pack on their bikes even if they don't pack ultra lite..
