What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

I threw my fender flares back on today, and looked at my leafs, they look saggy to me, what do you guys think? I know they are relatively straight at stock height, but they look like they are curving down wards...

pix of it with flares will be up later tonight in my build thread if you care to see.

:drool:nice WJ!

I just flexed mine out, local spot was closed up so i did it in my back yard. I have concluded that the leafs are sagging, the coils are sagging, the front strut/shocks are shot, and the rear air shocks are leaky...lift time!

Cheers
Eddy

thanks dude!

the roof rack looks good, leave it alone! ;)

yeah, running smooth, put about 50 miles on it tonight and temp/oil-pressure stayed good and no problems. idles only at 400 rpm, seems low, but i can't seem to find the spec for it in the FSM right now, it's a smooth idle though, so maybe it is supposed to be that low.

Idle is supposed to be 500.... talked to tech today.....He said to give it 1000km's and it will probably move up. Glad to hear the swap went well.... I watched your video....Noted the thumbs up as soon as you had oil pressure.

Nerve wracking watching that guage until it pins...lol

Added real Ram-Mounts to Vector Off-road's 2011+ JKE-Dock. It worked great on the VT Overland Rally trip.

not to, but more or less for...
emailed warrior products about the lack of rear tube doors for the 97+ XJ's. I'm kind of impressed that they emailed me back within maybe 20 minutes. Apparently, they are planning on producing them, they are overloaded with other projects for SEMA but plan on having them by spring of 2012... So, spring of 2012 I will be purchasing 4 tube doors, tube door sleeves/mesh deals, mirror brackets, and building a door stand for my stock doors! just means I need to find a place to mount two more speakers up front as well....

This and that...

Here (Germany) I have to try and sneak in parts runs or material pick ups whenever I can get away from work. They have some strange work/store hours and I never seem to get what I need.
I've been tinkering on my roof rack/RTT carrier/and rear swing out tire carrier so I made a run to a metal store for what I hope turns into the hinges for the swing out. Plan # 17.
Also, the weather is turning pretty quick and fall is coming on fast. Even starting to smell like that white stuff even though its no where near cold enough yet. I hope!
I've had the RTT deployed for about a week and a half trying to get it to dry inside. When I bought it there was no cover for it and it will take a long while to get one sent here from OZ. So nowing bad weather is close and not wanting to have it get soaked all over again I scrounged up a collapasable kiddy pool to use as a tarp. :) Its water proof, fits close enough to keep it dry since I won't be driving with it on, and best of all...It was FREE! Someone threw it away because it had a couple pin holes in it. Its plenty good for my needs and is actually made of some pretty cool/heavy duty type cloth stuff? Reminds me of a high end soft top of boat cover...
And we have a long weekend here so I'm hoping to at least get the tire carrier wrapped up.

JD... looking good man.. didn't check over on the "8" forum to see if you've cross-posted yet. I like that rear swing out, are you considering a 2 or 3 step ladder coming up out of it for access to your tent/rack? Just a thought since you're still putting it together.

get a leg up...

Thanks 6! I'm still trying to figure out the swing part of the carrier but I have a long weekend to get it done, I hope. Still need to create the part that actually holds the tire and hoping to make it adjustable. Set low for street driving so I can use the rear view mirror and then raise it up to gain a little departure angle.
My RTT only came with one section of the ladder so I'm going to have to fab extentions or something? I can say that deploying and storing the tent is kinda a PITA since all I have are my rock rails, rear bumper, or hood to stand on while doing it. Have to think about that a bit more to create some ideas. I need to reverse the tent to the correct way (its 180 out currently) so I can finish drilling the mounts and see how it does with the lift gate open and tent deployed. Won't be able to "use" the tent until a ladder is fabed though. So much to do....
On a side note I'm a little disappointed that I haven't done a decent job with a build thread here. My one on CJ8 has been better attended to even though I spend time here just as much? Maybe because its easier to post pics there? *shrugs* I even started one here for the 8 but a lot has happened since then.. I may have to just start over. :victory:

Had to bring the JKU back to brake shop after 1K miles on the new pads/rotors/hardware. Had all 4 calipers rebuilt, new pads all around, and parking brake adjustment. Aaargh.......really, only 27K miles before a major brake job?????
