What happened to the sierra 4x4 thread from yesterday?

He does seem to be doing a damn fine job of screwing his business up by piss poor communication and just not meeting any agreed upon deadlines

That really looks nice, hope it was worth the wait.
LOL!!!! We all know it wasn't worth the wait and certainly not the frustration....no less stuff you paid for you never got! Any of these folks could of had a great and top quality trailer from AT on time for just a little more money. But hey like those folks who defended the guy....'he's an artist'. Where are all those folks these days? :coffeedrink:
How many other folks still out there waiting for their trailer?

To those whose posts were deleted - leave the political BS out of it. This thread is not about who got elected.

I just wanted to post up and say I ordered a trailer lid from chris about 3 weeks ago for my 416 and I stated that I was going to come and pick it up myself this weekend while I was up in Tahoe. He said no problem so I paid a deposit for half the lid and I would pay the rest upon pickup. I've tried calling him before via his shop phone and he was hard to get a hold of but via email it was almost instantanious. We probably exchanged about 30 emails back and forth over the past few weeks regarding the lid and other questions I had about the trailer install on a 416.

So I went down to his shop this afternoon and picked up the lid and it was freshly painted gloss black and it was amazing and so pretty and better than what I was expecting. He helped me load it up on my subie my wife and I were there for probably about a hour or so and he showed me allover the shop and details on his trailers and gave me lots of tips and pointers for my build I'm working on. I even got to see his brand new generation 2 trailer which is truly a work of art.

As I was paying I remembered to ask about his fenders and if he had any in stock for my 416 and he happened to have 2 pairs so I added those to the tab and packed them up.

All and all I had a excellent experience with chris through out the whole buying process and he really knows his stuff and I would highly recommend him to anyone and I know there is alot of flack about his timelines but he really runs a small shop and sometime for a quality product you have to wait a while luckily for me it wasn't a wait at all and was worth the 5 hour drive to go pick up.

Even if I had to wait months I still would have been happy after all the longest I've waited for a plate steel bumper for my 4runner was 10 months and that was from shrockworks in texas. Sometime you just have to be patient but my advice for anyone that is considering one of his products would be to email him. He's super easy to contact via email.

Here is my lid by the way

Well I hope that Sierra 4X4 Trailers is making a comeback. I purchased a Gen 2 trailer last year and the trailer works great. The craftsmanship is great, but service was difficult to say the least.

Glad to hear that he is living up to his commitments. I don't think anyone had a problem with the quality of the work. It was the total lack of communication coupled with the excessive delays beyond what was told to people. Being patient is a virtue. But when one has waited for their purchase past when they are expecting delivery, patience wears thin real quick.

I wish him continued success in his business.

I'm fairly new on here. I love the site for the information and knowledge the members . I have not dealt with Sierra and probably won't. I followed the deleted threads and have read the comments here. The moderators stated that it is a private but public forum and their right to delete stuff. They mistake being made is that we the members of the site make the site. A site without a following is not a site! Moderators have a difficult job but should listen to their members. If we are not intitled to our opinions in a open discussion then people will loose faith in the information supplied on this site. Just remember a site without a following is not a site! It's a fine line and we should all walk carefully. Just my opinion.

You have some good points rockrunr...that being said I feel the mods did a bang up job amid some pretty crazy shells flying. I think once some of the political stuff was interjected the wheels came off. I doubt anyone wanted to see Sierra Trailers fail...but the condescending attitude in a public forum, coupled with an inability to respond, even at the most basic level, left many with a bad taste...current and future customers included......but that has been beat to death as well.

I'm sure I'm not alone in hoping ST turns a negative into a positive...let's face it..it's American made product, and we can be a forgiving bunch....but I guess only time (and forum space) will tell...but it would be nice to see a happy ending.

I would think that a sincere apology to the customers he messed w/ would go a along ways w/ even future customers.:coffeedrink: ... Shift+R improves the quality of this image. Shift+A improves the quality of all images on this page.

I feel after all I've seen Re: Chris and Sierra 4x4 trailers I need to tell my story. I bought a very basic used trailer from Rou at Bundu Gear (he had it made to carry examples of his great gear to shows) and it wasn't really a serious off road trailer. I called Chris and asked him if he would modify it and make it more of an off road /expo trailer. I know this isn't his regular business but he agreed and I towed over to Gardnerville from my home in Utah. We discussed my options, pricing and delivery times. I needed to postpone returning to pick it up several times and he also needed to finish other projects he was doing so it did take a bit longer to finish it than I would have liked but it was way worth waiting for. I finally picked it up (and again I emphasize I kept having to reschedule as I'm a freelance photographer and needed to fulfill assignments) and was amazed at how he transformed it into a serious trailer. In my experience Chris and his wife are are wonderful and kind people who simply don't deserve the trashing they seem to get here. He is an amazing craftsman, truly understands our needs as over landers and i wouldn't hesitate a second to recommend or do business again with him.

This M416 fan missed the thread in question, but feels the Moderators have whipped up a storm unnecessarily by deleting the entire thread.
If a member is critical of a site sponsor for poor customer service or product, that should be okay. If the moderators find there is an issue beyond that with a post as stated above, the mods should delete the offensive contents and any posts that quote the offensive comments and leave a note in the post(s) explaining why.
At least that way, other members are "educated" about the offense and can avoid the same mistake.
