What makes Tepui Tents different?

This question gets asked frequently by customers considering Tepui brand tents and there is a common assumption that all the tents coming out of China are all the same except for the badging. I wanted to point out some of the things that I feel are key differences that put the Tepui Tents a step above many other tents on the market.
.
Tepui is not just another middleman selling Chinese tents but has QA staff in China & supplies key components, i.e., canvas, ladders, hardware, anti-condensation mats & pads to the factories we have under contract to produce tents.
.
No other brands made in China are doing independent on-site production or final inspection nor do they supply components like Tepui does. Tepui always does a complete walk-around checking for flaws & blemishes on each tent. This way Tepui can ensure that all seams and stitching are correct and that waterproofing elements like the taped and double stitched seams don't have flaws. It helps to ensure that all other features on every tent work exactly as designed. This level of quality assurance is second to none, and is evident when compared with many other tents.
.
Roof Top tents have been around for decades so there is bound to be similarities as the basic designs have been proven and remained the same for years regardless of brand. Having our own on-site QA staff sets Tepui apart in terms of quality to the customer. Also, by supplying our own key components Tepui can ensure high quality and durability beyond what you can find in many other brands. Customers are important to Tepui and we value the feedback we get from our customers. There have been many recent changes to features of the tents that are a direct result of feedback from customers who are using the tents in extreme conditions. Our Ruggedized tents are an example of upgrades offered based on feedback from customers. We've also upgraded many features on the standard model tents recently based on feedback. A few examples are our new stronger ladder design, some of the straps being changed to use buckles instead of Velcro for better durability, and other color options that have been requested by customers. This feedback helps us Tepui to continually improve the products and add features that are important to the people using the tents.
.
No other tent being made in China offers features that compare to those found on the Tepui Ruggedized models. Better canvas, more useable pockets, anti-condensation mats included with each one, stronger internal bows and frame and a MUCH stronger, lightweight raw aluminum diamond plate base make the Ruggedized tents some of the toughest tents you can find that will give you years of use in any conditions you can throw at them. You won't find those kinds of features anywhere but with Tepui Tents.
.
Tepui is also know for their excellent customer service. That can be evidenced by the comments here on the board from Tepui customers. Talk to anyone who has purchased from Tepui and whether or not they would buy again from Tepui and I'm confident they will say yes. Not only is this a result of superior products but also because of the quality of the customer service that they received. I try to make myself very accessible here on the forum for any questions or suggestions regarding roof top tents. I've personally used a variety of different brand tents and there are reasons why I made Tepui my tent of choice after having experience with other tents. I'm happy to share any of that if you have questions. Send me a PM anytime and I'll respond as quickly as possible. Many of you also have my phone number and can reach me that way.
.
When you consider all of these features and the level of quality assurance that Tepui invests in getting you the best roof top tent you'll see why Tepui has become the tent of choice for so many people and you'll quickly realize that Tepui customer service is always there to help you before, during and after the sale when you need it. Feel free to ask any additional questions and I'll do my best to answer them

I'll tell you two of the reasons I'll be buying a Tepui next month:

1. This page exists: Spare Parts

2. I trust that Adam is available when #1 can't help.

I'm rough on my stuff and like the fact that wear and tear isn't a total loss on an investment like a RTT. I don't see it as a sign that their stuff breaks, I see it as a sign that they support me after the initial purchase. I can't afford a Autohome, James Baroud, who or one of the South African RTTs and even if I did I don't think it would be as simple to procure a spare/replacement part on a whim. I've spent many, many hours contemplating which "chinese" tent to go with and those two reasons are why I keep coming back to Tepui despite the fact I could get a TJM locally for a good discount from an excellent vendor I know personally.

I'm not affiliated with Tepui in any way.

I had an Arb Simpson 3 and my brother has a Tepui. As far as quality of canvas and zippers, acutally I prefer the Tepui cover over the Arb. The only real problem in comparison was the Tepui uses a metal base of the tent and seemed to buildup a lot of condensation under the mattress compared to the Arb in cold weather. But definitely a quality product

Tepui and it's on forum representative have been great. I'm building a new truck to safely house a tent on some hard core trails. Adam has been amazing to work with very prompt with answers to some silly question. I will be buying a tent based solely on his honest answers. I asked every manufacturer the same basic questions and got 2 response one was our most expensive tent is your best bet. The other was straight facts this is what I use its what I think will work in your space.

Dumb question, How do you pronounce Tepui?

From Wikipedia

A tepui /ˈtɛpwi/, or tepuy (Spanish: [teˈpui]), is a table-top mountain or mesa found in the Guiana Highlands of South America, especially in Venezuela and western Guyana. The word tepui means "house of the gods" in the native tongue of the Pemon, the indigenous people who inhabit the Gran Sabana.

Do none of the other manufacturers use QC/QA?

I'll refrain from commenting on any of the other brands and keep my comments related specifically to Tepui. Tepui has the only QA staff ON SITE at the factory employed by Tepui doing Final Inspection Quality Control and complete walk-arounds on each tent to check details like construction, assembly, and seam quality as well as other details at a level beyond others. The key differing factor is having someone doing a thorough inspection and catch any flaws BEFORE it ever leaves the factory.

GOTCHA. I am pretty sure I completely missed that the first go around. Having your own QC/QA on hand is important when you do not manufacture your product. Gotcha, Gotcha.

We got a Tepui tent for our new Land Cruiser 100 project in the Bay Area. They opened up their store on a Sunday so we could pick it up and customer service has been awesome.

We are going to try it in Death Valley and Mojave right after Christmas and post more feedback.
It's the large double model (forgot the name right now) and we installed it on a low profile Baja Rack - the fit is perfect.
