Got a Tepui Autana for my 80 back in October and am glad I did. Sort of the obvious choice when I live a few miles from the warehouse in Santa Cruz (Can't drive around town more than 5 minutes without seeing one.) It comes down to the people and the passion and I think Tepui has that. They constantly listen and improve their products as well as expand their line and have great CS as Adam has displayed on here.
I even met the founder of the company last week at my son's school and she told me how she got the idea down in Venezuela and brought it up here. Thanks Evan, Griffin and Gabriella. And Adam, hoping to meet you out at CruiseMoab this year. Gotta see that 80 you just built!
I must say I've been quite happy with my Tepui Kukenam tent so far. I've only had the chance to use it twice but the first night i took it out it was in one of the rainstorms of the year and it stayed dry inside!
Going back down the logging road the following morning was like driving down a mud slide it rained so hard!
Second time was in freezing temperatures and it was decently warm inside, warmer than a ground tent thats for sure!
I got a weekend trip planned in 2 weeks to head back up into the mountains so i look forward to using it then!
My main reason for getting a RTT in general was because im going on a two week long trip through Northern BC in August and wanted something that was quick and easy to set up and seeing how it takes me 5-7 minutes from turning off the engine to crawling into my sleeping bag this was a perfect buy. Not to mention the factor of safety from being up off the ground!
I have an older CampingLabs and everyone at Tepui has always been very helpful finding the replacement parts to fit my tent. Good quality stuff. I just bought a FWC Hawk and I'm gonna mount the Tepui awning on the side. Plus the biggest PLUS is Dannie....mmmm Naked and Afraid goddess extraordinaire. I hope to see her again at Mormon Lake.:wings:
my 2cents ... I bought my tepui because of Box Rocket, he answered everything I asked here and on other forum's and Griffin @ tepui was awesome to deal with, I to looked in to the smittybult RTT, the price was just about the same but it took for ever for someone to get back to me and the shipping was almost double, I,ve been real happy with my tepui
I'd have to agree with the other people here in favor of purchasing one. I haven't got to use mine yet as I am still in Kuwait but it was the customer service. I got ahold of Adam and CVT. Adam was respectful, helpful, and responded in a timely matter. He was also able to get me the tent that my wife and I really wanted. I have no doubts that my Ruggedized tent will hold up for a very long time and make our Overlanding experience that much better. If you get any I'd go for the Ruggedized. Pay once for the right one instead of paying twice for replacements.
