Just drove the Dalton this weekend as far as the Yukon River. It was pretty well travelled, even in March...lots of trucks, pipeline workers, and a few civilians. A CB may be handy, but not necessary. Take some supplies (food, water, shelter, etc), the spare tires, and some tools, just in case. If you have a problem, you're really not out isolated in the middle of nowhere...someone is going to be sharing the road with you. Read up on the highway in a recent copy of the "Milepost," if you have not already done so.
