How much articulation/rubbing can you live with? Where will you spend your off-road time? Lots of other considerations if considering those tires or other makes and sizes. If you're only asking a basic "will it fit question", then there you have it...
They will fit but the Disco is going to be slow on the hills if you do not change the ratio on the diffs or fit a Defender transfer case
245/75/16 is perhaps the best size on standard transmission.
I didn't do any trimming. I didn't notice any power loss however I did notice slighty more fuel cosumption around town. If climbing highway hill I go into gear 3 powers it right up!
Should be a good fit. I ran them (GY MT-Rs) on my Camel D1 for years with minimal problems. The only things you'll have to do is a "Camel cut" on the rear quarterpanel, and adjust the steering stops up front.
discosleuth,
I have the LR Heavy Duty Springs on my ’98 with a 1.5 inch alum. spacer puck in the rear. Brand new the springs probably yielded about 2 inches of lift. However, the springs have been on the truck for 8 years now and I’m sure are tired and sagging a bit. I just put 235/85R16 tires on and only get rubbing on the back edge of the rear fender opening at full compression. As stated, the body panel could easily be trimmed to eliminate the rubbing altogether. I just haven’t gotten around to it. Here’s what the tires look like up front. No rubbing issues on the steer axle.
I am planning on running two sets. A 245/75 with a more aggressive tread on Outback TX-1 wheels (DI and AT Chaser both). Then I am going to fit a 215/85 R16 AT on my 6.5" NATO steel wheels for daily use and road trips.
4.1:1 axle gearing is planned.
I am really not interested in running anything larger, though the 235/85 is perfectly appropriate in my mind.
When I had the 2" OME lit I had those size tires and they were great, Honestly the best all around set up I ever had!! You will be very happy with that size choice. I don't know about the brand though, I had BFG at's!
