What to do to your XJ seats?

I know that my XJ buckets won't last forever. I have noticed that with a few extra inches of lift and the smallish door that the seat bottom outsides get some extra wear & tear during access. Was hoping to upgrade some day with out all the hassle of mount fabrication. So, what have others done?

WJ and ZJ seats are a bolt in job for the 95+ Cherokees. Quite a few have found a set of heated leather and done this swap. You simply bolt the WJ/ZJ seats to the XJ seatframes, complete any wiring you may need.

These seats will take away approximentally 1" of headroom, could be an issue if your tall and have issues already.

Yep ZJ seats are a bolt in solution. The problem I've found is that finding a pair of long in the tooth ZJ seats that are not worn out is very, very challenging. I have been looking into some Corbeaus, good seats and shockingly affordable. If I pull the trigger, I'll post up a photo.

Would like to see some Corbeaus or such in an XJ. I know alot of WJ/ZJ swaps are out there but you see few if any modern upgrades in XJ seating.

I need to figure something out as well, my driver seat is shot fabric is ripped and the inner frame broken.

I sat in an XJ that had some mid 90's honda prelude seats and it was quite comfy. Might go that route, but will require a little fabrication.

I did 6 way power leather seats out of a 2004 WJ. It is direct bolt in if you want to have it with no power seats and you will only fit if you are 5'7" like me. If you want power than you have to custom build the brackets for the power to work. The split seat in the rear is awesome. especially with a car seat.

DEpending on how much money you want to spend... you could get new cloth or leather upholstery for them. I remember seeing places selling new material to recover the seats. IIRC someone at NAXJA did it several years ago and was happy with the results. I remember thinking the images posted looked pretty decent.

For the amount of effort though I'd go WJ - if you can find good seats.

I run cloth WJ seats in my '01. HUGE improvement over the XJ seats and it took me about 20 minutes to install them. This is an excellent and inexpensive upgrade.
