What would you do with a '99 4runner

Yeah, my old man has a few toyotas, and all of them are SC'd. It really is an amazing difference in power. Makes the truck fun to drive. Its still no sports car, but it is very responsive. Which is nice.

Thanks to everyone who voted to keep the old goat going. It's funny that once you can afford to have the vehicles you dreamed of when you couldn't, you get wise in the process and don't buy them.

Although I've decided to keep the 'Runner I'm still faced with the problem that with a dented up rear bumper, faded mis-colored fender flares, a front bumper that has faded so badly it at least 6 different colors of grey and black, and front tires that have half as much tread on the out side as the inside from bad alignment, she looks like 40 miles of bad road. So here's what I've decided to do.

- Remove all plastic including fender and front bumper.
- Remove rear bumper, pound out dents, and coat with bedliner to hide home body work.
- Replace front bumper with ARB Bull bar (actually cheaper then stock parts from Toyota)
- Replace stock wheels with powder coated black steel wheels (the hub insert that were yellow and peeled were $50 from Toyota, the steel wheels were $85)
- Professional Wheel Alignment
- BFG KM2 265/75 16's
- Oh and the ARB looked awkward empty so I'm adding a Smitty Built Winch and PIAA driving lights.

Total cost about $3000 leaving plenty left over to do the timing belt. The tear down has already happened in the driveway and my goal is to have the vehicle ready to leave on a trip to the Eastern Sierra by Sunday morning. When I wrap I will post before and after pics.

You can repaint the plastic hub inserts with plastic specific spray paint. If you keep the alloy rims they reduce rotational weight over steelies.
