What's in your Call Out Bag?

Do you feel you lose much heat at the connection point of the jacket and zipper?
Interesting concept.

The "tongue" is insulated and has windflaps. It can't be as good as a real full-sized bag but it is versatile and helps to cut weight. A different approach than someone who has to effect a rescue as well as take care of themselves.

...snip... I think there is also a bit of a difference between lightweight thru hikers who have to conserve weight and space vs. SAR missions which, as many can attest, usually are guaranteed to happen in the worst possible weather...:snorkel:

And also require that we often take care of people that were ill prepared for that weather/terrain, in addition to caring for ourselves.

I've used socks for patient care as both socks and mittens when there weren't enough spare gloves around or they had giant monkey paws that wouldn't fit my spare gloves.
